‘Many atrocity cases go unreported’
A meeting organised by Muslim Thinkers' Forum (MTF) here on Sunday called for unity of Dalits, adivasis, Christian and Muslim groups in the 'growing atmosphere of intolerance' during the last four years.
Forum Convener A.M. Khan Yazdani told media lynching and attacks on trains in the name of beef-transporting took place in various parts of the country.
In Hyderabad alone, 5000 to 6000 SC/ST atrocity cases were registered every year and those not registered were double the number, he alleged. Mr. Yazdani said Muslims, SCs and STs lacked protection in society.
He said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was part of NDA up to 2004. In the 2005 May 'Mahanadu' of the party he admitted that he had made a mistake by aligning with communal forces and tendered an apology to Muslims, Mr. Yazdani said.
But he had again formed an alliance with Narendra Modi as he would win the election for him.
MTF co-convener Jaha Aara and representatives of various organisations including V S Krishna, Mani, Krishnabai participaed.
