Cabinet berth for a member from community sought
Muslim Thinkers Forum convener A.M. Khan Yazdani has alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has ignored the welfare of Muslim community in the State despite tall poll promises made earlier.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Khan said that Mr. Naidu had made several promises in a bid to woo the Muslim community before elections in 2014.
General election tickets to 24 Muslim candidates, sub plan with Rs. 2,500 crore fund, reservation and several other promises were made on various occasions before elections, he said.
“However, a majority of them have not been implemented.
“There is not even a single Muslim legislator in the State Cabinet so far,” he said and demanded that Mr. Naidu immediately address the issues of Muslims in the State beginning with the induction of a Muslim legislator into the Council of Ministers.
“Just as Mr. Naidu was deceived by the Prime Minister, Muslims in the State have been deceived by Mr. Naidu in the last four years,” he said.
